We've Gone Solar!

ALF is excited to be collaborating with Grid Alternatives Central Coast to install solar collecting panels on our building. With the big refrigerators and freezers needed to keep our food fresh, we use a lot of energy. The solar panels, expected to go live in the next few months, should save us a good deal of money each year.
This project was funded by the Hoag Foundation, PG&E, and the Rotary Club, as well as by private donors and bequests.
Grid Alternatives works with non-profit organizations and low-income homeowners to install the energy-saving panels. In addition, these projects provide on-the-job training to interested groups and individuals--in our case, about 50 students from Cal Poly.
